# Use CallForMe in Perplexity for Mac

> In the Perplexity Mac app, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a connector. Use the remote option with https://callforme.tel/mcp if your plan has it, or a local connector running npx -y mcp-remote https://callforme.tel/mcp. A browser tab opens once to connect your account, and the first real call returns one setup link.

Perplexity is good at finding the right business. With CallForMe connected, it can also call them.

## Install

### Remote connector (if available on your plan)

1. Open **Settings**, then **Connectors**.
2. Click **Add Connector** and choose the remote option.
3. Name: `CallForMe`. URL: `https://callforme.tel/mcp`

### Local bridge (works everywhere)

Perplexity for Mac runs local connectors through its PerplexityXPC helper. Install the helper when prompted, then:

1. Open **Settings**, then **Connectors**, then **Add Connector**.
2. On the **Simple** tab, Server name: `callforme`
3. Command:

npx -y mcp-remote https://callforme.tel/mcp
```

This needs Node.js (or swap in `bunx` if you use Bun). `mcp-remote` is an open-source bridge, not part of CallForMe.

## Connecting your account

With the local bridge, `mcp-remote` handles sign-in itself: the first time it connects, it opens a browser tab to authenticate. With a remote connector, choose OAuth if Perplexity asks for an authentication type. A browser tab opens and closes by itself. There's no email, no form and no card. That creates your CallForMe account.

## Your first call

The only other step comes once, the first time your agent places a real call. CallForMe answers with a short setup link like `https://callforme.tel/go/k7m2q`, and your agent shows it to you.

1. Open the link. It shows the exact call about to be placed: who, what number, and the goal.
2. Add $10. Your card is saved and auto-reloads, so you won't see this page again. Creators can claim credit with their email instead.
3. The page says you're done. Tell your agent to continue, and the phone starts ringing.

After that, every chat and every session just calls. If you later add CallForMe to a second agent, its first call link recognizes you (when you're signed in on that browser) and links it to your account in one click, with no second payment. More in [how setup links work](/docs/setup-links).

## If the sign-in step doesn't appear

If Perplexity never shows a sign-in step, use one of these instead:

- `https://callforme.tel/mcp/open` needs no sign-in. Your agent gets a setup link in each new session unless it saves the `account_key` it receives.
- A personal URL, `https://callforme.tel/mcp/k/<your key>`, or the header `Authorization: Bearer cfm_...`, using a key you create on the [account page](https://callforme.tel/account).

With the bridge, a header looks like `npx -y mcp-remote https://callforme.tel/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer cfm_your_key"`. With a remote connector, paste the personal URL instead.

Custom connectors from your Mac don't carry over to the web app. Use the Mac app, or use another agent.
