# Have AI call appliance repair shops for you

> Give your agent the appliance, brand, model number, the symptom and your zip. CallForMe calls repair companies near you and asks whether they service that brand, the diagnostic fee and whether it's credited to the repair, how long parts take, and the first visit. Each answered call costs $1.

**Say to your agent:** "Call 4 appliance repair companies near 27606 about a dishwasher that won't drain. Brand and model are in my notes. Ask if they service that brand, the diagnostic fee, if it's credited toward the repair, and the earliest visit."

Appliance repair calls go well or badly on one detail: the model number. With it, the person on the phone can tell whether they carry the part, whether the brand is one they work on, and roughly what the fix runs. Without it, every call ends with "we'd have to send a tech out."

## Paste this into your agent

> Call 4 appliance repair companies near 27606 about a dishwasher that won't drain. Brand and model are in my notes. Ask if they service that brand, the diagnostic fee, if it's credited toward the repair, and the earliest visit.

Other appliance calls:

- "Find a repair company near 33704 that can look at a refrigerator that stopped cooling, today or tomorrow. Food is at risk, so stop at the first one with an opening."
- "Ask 3 repair shops if they work on a 9-year-old front-load washer that shows an error code, and what the diagnostic fee is."
- "Call about a gas range where one burner won't light. Do they service gas appliances, and what's the trip fee?"

## What the company will ask

Unlike plumbers or electricians, "appliance repair" isn't on the trades list in `plan_call`, so the preview won't warn you that your zip or availability is missing. A goal like "Book an appliance repair visit for my refrigerator" matches no category at all. Price wording ("how much to fix my dishwasher") reads as a generic quote, which only asks for the item and model. So put these in `details` yourself:

- Your zip or address, for the service area
- Brand and full model number
- The symptom, in plain words, plus any error code on the display
- The appliance's rough age
- Days and times you're home

Other things they ask:

- Is it built in or freestanding?
- Gas or electric, for ranges and dryers?
- Is it still under warranty?

## Questions worth asking

- Do you service this brand?
- Diagnostic or trip fee, and is it applied to the repair?
- Likely part and typical range, given the symptom and model.
- Do you stock parts, or how long does ordering take?
- Warranty on parts and labor.
- Earliest visit and arrival window.

## How call_around works for appliance repair

`query: "appliance repair"` near your zip, `count: 4`. For a fridge or freezer that's failing, use `stop_after: 1` and say in the goal "book the first one who can come within 24 hours." If you only want shops that already have reviews, add `min_rating: 4`. Many repair companies work out of a van and answer between jobs, so expect some voicemail. Without a `voicemail_message`, those calls hang up and cost nothing.

## What trips these calls up

- **Brand lists.** Some companies skip certain premium or less common brands. Asking first saves a wasted trip fee.
- **Parts wait.** The visit can be tomorrow while the part takes a week or more. Ask both, since the visit date alone tells you little.
- **Second trip charges.** If a part has to be ordered, some companies charge again for the return visit. Ask whether the second visit is included.

## What it costs

$1 per company that answers, including the first 2 minutes. Four companies, three answer with calls under 2 minutes, one goes straight to voicemail with no message left: $3.00.

## FAQ

### Where do I find the model number?

On a sticker or plate: inside the door edge for dishwashers, inside the fridge on a side wall, on the back or under the lid for washers, inside the door frame for ovens and dryers. Snap a photo and paste the number into details.

### Will they give a repair price by phone?

Usually only the diagnostic fee. With the model number and symptom, some techs will name the likely part and a typical range. The firm price comes after diagnosis.

### Is it worth repairing?

Ask each company for its opinion once they know the age and model. Some will tell you on the phone when a repair usually costs more than the appliance is worth. The decision is yours.

### Can it handle a warranty repair?

It can ask whether the company is an authorized servicer for your brand, which warranty repairs usually require. The warranty claim itself usually goes through the manufacturer or warranty company first, and they verify the owner.
