# Have AI call print shops: quotes, rush jobs, one-offs

> Tell your agent what you need printed: the item, size, quantity, material and deadline. CallForMe calls print shops and copy centers, several at once if you like, and asks the price, how fast they can do it, what file format they want, and whether they'll do a small run. Each answered call costs $1.

**Say to your agent:** "Call 4 print shops near 85122 and ask the price and turnaround for 250 two-sided 4x6 postcards on thick matte stock, ready by Thursday. Ask what file format they want."

Print jobs are quoted by the counter, and the answer depends on details: size, stock, quantity, how soon. Your agent can give every shop the same details and come back with a price and a turnaround from each.

## Paste this into your agent

> Call 4 print shops near 85122 and ask the price and turnaround for 250 two-sided 4x6 postcards on thick matte stock, ready by Thursday. Ask what file format they want.

Other print calls:

- "Ask the copy center near my office if they can print a single custom fabric sticker for a shirt, and what material they carry."
- "Get quotes for a 3x8 foot vinyl banner with grommets for Saturday."
- "Call screen printers near 78205 and ask the price for 40 one-color shirts, and the minimum order."

## What the shop will ask

`plan_call` flags the exact item when it's missing: the size, the material and the quantity. Shops usually ask:

- Size and quantity.
- Paper or material: card stock weight, finish, vinyl, fabric.
- One side or two, color or black and white.
- The deadline, and pickup or delivery.
- Whether the file is print-ready, and in what format.

## Questions worth asking

- Price for this quantity, and the price break at the next one up?
- Turnaround, and the rush fee for sooner?
- What file format and resolution do you need, and where do I send it?
- Is there a minimum order, or a setup fee?
- Do you do proofs before printing?

## How call_around works for print shops

`query: "print shop"` with `queries: ["copy center", "sign shop"]` for banners, or `"screen printing"` for shirts, and `near` set to where you'll pick up. Four to six shops is usually enough to see the range.

## What it costs

$1 per shop that answers, including the first 2 minutes. Five shops, four answer: $4. Calls that ring out are free.

## FAQ

### Will a shop print just one?

Many will, at a one-off price. Ask directly ("Can you print a single 3-inch vinyl sticker?"): online ordering often starts at 50 or 100, but the counter can often do one.

### What do print shops ask for?

The size, quantity, material or paper, one or two sides, color, the deadline, and whether you have a print-ready file. Put those in details so the shop can quote on the spot.

### Can it send them my file?

No. The assistant asks where to send it (an email address or an upload link) and passes that back, so you send the file yourself.
