# GetHuman vs CallForMe: skip the hold, compared

> GetHuman is a free, ad-supported site and app: its AI phone waits on hold at big companies, then tells you when a rep is ready or talks to them and sends a transcript. CallForMe works inside the AI agent you already use: your agent calls any US or Canadian business, answers its questions mid-call, can call several places at once, and rings you only when needed. $1 per answered call.

## What GetHuman is

GetHuman ([gethuman.com](https://gethuman.com)) started as a directory of customer service numbers and tips. Today its free AI phone can dial a company, work the phone menu, wait on hold, and either let you know when a representative is ready or talk to them for you and send a summary and transcript. It can schedule a call for when the company is open, needs no account, and says it uses Google Gemini. The service is supported by ads.

## When to pick GetHuman

- You're calling one big company yourself and want something to wait on hold for free.
- You don't use an AI agent and don't need the call's answers anywhere but your inbox.

## When to pick CallForMe

- You already work in Claude, ChatGPT or another agent and want it to handle the call end to end, with the answers coming back into the same chat.
- The business is a local one, not a big support line: a pharmacy, a shop, a clinic, a restaurant.
- You want prices or availability from several places in one request. See [call around](/guides/call-around).
- The business will ask things your agent knows (an order number, a date of birth), and you want them answered while they're on the line. See [when the business asks something](/guides/when-the-business-asks-something-unknown).
- You want your phone to ring only once a person is on the line. See [wait on hold and patch me in](/guides/ai-agent-hold-and-patch-in).
- You'd rather pay per answered call than see ads. How long those holds run: [customer service hold times, measured](/guides/customer-service-hold-times).

## FAQ

### Is GetHuman free?

Yes. As of November 3, 2026 its site says its AI phone is free, needs no account, and is supported by ads. CallForMe charges $1 per answered call including the first 2 minutes, then $0.40 a minute; calls nobody answers are free.

### Can I use GetHuman from ChatGPT or Claude?

GetHuman doesn't publish an MCP server, API or agent integration; you start calls on its site or app. CallForMe is a remote MCP server: add https://callforme.tel/mcp to Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor or Gemini CLI and your agent places the calls.

### Which one works for small local businesses?

GetHuman is organized around company pages for large customer service lines. CallForMe calls any US or Canadian business number your agent finds or you give it: the local pharmacy, a body shop, a restaurant.

### Do both give a transcript?

GetHuman says it sends a summary and transcript after a call it handles. CallForMe returns the answers to each question, a summary, the transcript and a recording link to your agent.
