# Do you get a transcript and recording of an AI phone call?

> Yes. While a CallForMe call is live, your agent can read the transcript as it happens. When it ends, your agent gets a summary, an answer to each of your questions, and any price, time or confirmation number. The recording and full transcript stay on your account page, and only your account can play the audio.

**Say to your agent:** "Call Maple Street Pizza at (469) 770-7412, ask how long a large pepperoni takes, then show me the full transcript."

## What you get, and when

| When | What | Where |
|---|---|---|
| During the call | Each new line of the conversation, plus the business's questions | `get_call` (your agent) |
| When it ends | Summary, outcome type, an answer per question, price, time, confirmation number, anything that went differently | `get_call` (your agent) |
| After it ends | Full transcript and the audio recording | Your [account page](/account) |
| After it ends | A result email, with a calendar file when something was booked | Your inbox, if you've signed in with your email |
| Any time later | Recent calls with their answers | `list_calls` (your agent) |

## The live transcript

Your agent follows a call by calling `get_call` every 45 seconds or so. Each time, it gets only the lines it hasn't seen yet, plus the latest thing each side said. That's how an agent can tell you "they're checking the back" while the call is still going, and how it notices when the business asks something it needs to answer. See [what happens when the business asks something your agent doesn't know](/guides/when-the-business-asks-something-unknown).

Phone menu presses show up in the transcript too, so you can see which options the assistant chose.

## The answers

You don't have to read a transcript to get the result. Every question your agent asked comes back in the same order, with the business's answer or `null` if the call didn't get one:

```json
"answers": [
  { "question": "Is a booth available?", "answer": "No booths Friday. Window table instead." },
  { "question": "Confirmation number", "answer": "MS4412" }
]
```

Alongside them: `outcome.summary` in a sentence, `outcome.type` (booked, quoted, answered, cancelled, voicemail and so on), the price or time when there was one, and `deviations` for anything that didn't go as asked ("window table instead of a booth"). Questions the call couldn't answer are listed in `unanswered_questions`, so your agent can `redial` and ask only those.

## The recording

Answered calls are recorded. The opener says "on a recorded line," so the person answering knows before the conversation starts. That matters in US states where everyone on a call has to agree to a recording. See [is it legal for AI to call a business](/guides/is-it-legal-for-ai-to-call-a-business).

The recording plays on your account page next to the transcript. It's only available to the account that placed the call: an agent connected without an account doesn't get it, and share pages never include audio.

## Emails after each call

If your account has a verified email (you've signed in on the account page with an emailed link), you get a short email when each call ends: the result, the answers, and a link to the full call. When the call booked something with a date and time, the email includes a calendar file (.ics) for it.

## Sharing a call

Sometimes you want to show someone what was said: a roommate, a landlord, a group chat. Ask your agent to share the call. `share_call` makes a public, read-only page with the result and transcript, and:

- Your name, phone numbers and email addresses are hidden.
- The business name is hidden unless you ask to show it.
- There's no audio.
- Search engines are told not to index it.
- Your agent can turn the link off again.

## Try it free

Ask your agent to call Maple Street Pizza, a fictional demo restaurant at (469) 770-7412, and then to show you the transcript. Demo calls cost nothing and don't need an account. See the [demo lines](/demo).

## FAQ

### Can I listen to the call?

Yes. Answered calls are recorded, and the recording plays on your account page. Only the account that placed the call can get it.

### Does the business know it's recorded?

Yes. The first sentence of every call says it's an AI assistant on a recorded line, before the conversation starts.

### Can I share a call with someone?

Ask your agent to share it. share_call makes a read-only page with the result and transcript. Your name, phone numbers and emails are hidden, there's no audio, and you can turn the link off.

### How long are calls kept?

While your account is open, so your agent can look them up later. Email hello@greatwork.company from your account email to delete your account and calls.
