CallForMe calls business numbers in the US and Canada, which share the +1 calling code. Pricing is the same: $1 per answered call including 5 minutes, then $0.25 per minute, in US dollars. Emergency, N11 and premium numbers are blocked. Numbers outside the US and Canada aren't supported. ## The short answer Yes. CallForMe calls businesses in Canada the same way it calls businesses in the US. Both countries use +1 numbers under the North American Numbering Plan, and CallForMe supports all of them except blocked numbers. ## What numbers work - US and Canadian business numbers with a +1 country code - Toll-free numbers (800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844, 833) - Numbers written any common way; your agent normalizes them What's blocked: - 911, 988, 211, 311 and other N11 numbers - 900 and 976 premium-rate numbers - Anything outside +1 ## Finding a Canadian business `find_business` works with Canadian places. Canadian Thanksgiving is in October, and plenty of pharmacies change their hours. Your agent calls `find_business`, picks three that list today's hours, then calls each with the same question. It defaults to English. If you're calling a business in Quebec where French is more comfortable for the staff, you can set it, but start with a short, simple call to check it works for what you need. ## Pricing Same as US calls, in US dollars: - $1 per answered call, including the first 5 minutes - $0.25 per minute after that, up to 30 minutes - No charge if nobody answers, it's busy, or the number fails Your first top-up is $10. See [pricing](/docs/pricing). ## Time zones Canada spans six time zones, including Newfoundland's half-hour offset. `find_business` reports whether a business is open right now and its hours today, so your agent can avoid calling a Halifax shop at 5:30pm Pacific time. ## Rules to know The same CallForMe rules apply to Canadian businesses: the assistant says it's an AI calling on your behalf in the first sentence, never claims to be a person, never gives card numbers or passwords, and honors any business that asks not to be called. CallForMe is for your own errands with businesses, not for sales calls, so the common case is simple, but if you're doing something unusual, check the rules that apply to you. ## Good Canadian calls to start with - **Holiday hours.** Canadian Thanksgiving, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Boxing Day and provincial holidays all shift hours. See [restaurant reservations](/use-cases/restaurant-reservations). ## Phone number formats Your agent can pass numbers in E.164 form, which is the safest: `+16045550123` for a Vancouver number, `+14165550123` for Toronto. Canadian and US numbers look identical in format, so there's nothing special to do. If `place_call` returns `blocked`, the `reason` field says why, for example a blocked service number or a business that has opted out. ## Callback numbers from outside North America If you want the business to call you back, `callback_number` should be a number they can dial easily. For most Canadian businesses that means a US or Canadian number. If you only have a number elsewhere, leave `callback_number` out and ask the business to confirm details on the call instead, so the transcript has everything you need. ## FAQ ### Do I need to be in the US or Canada to use it? The calls have to go to US or Canadian numbers. Where you are doesn't change how the tool works; your agent places the call over the internet. ### Can it call a business in the UK or Mexico? No. Only US and Canadian numbers (the North American Numbering Plan, +1) are supported. ### Can the call be in French? place_call has a language field, which defaults to English. English is the default and best-tested. If you need French, set language and test with a short call first. ### Are Canadian toll-free numbers okay? Yes.
