Short answer: Tell your agent what you need: book or move a groom, find a groomer that takes cats, check whether your dog is ready for pickup, or ask about vaccine rules. Give the breed, weight and coat. CallForMe calls the groomer, answers their questions about your pet, and reports back. Each answered call costs $1, and groomers who don't pick up cost nothing.

Calls to a groomer are mostly small errands: book the usual cut, move it, ask whether the dog is ready, find someone who takes cats. Each one starts with questions about breed, size and coat, which your agent can answer for you. To compare prices and openings across several groomers, see find a dog groomer with an opening.

Call Maple Street Grooming and book a full groom for my 40 lb goldendoodle, Bailey, Saturday morning, same short cut as last time. Ask when to drop off, how long he'll stay, and to text me when he's ready.
Other grooming calls:
- "Ask groomers near 98103 what a bath and nail trim costs for a 12 lb terrier mix, and whether they take walk-ins."
- "Call groomers near me and ask which ones groom cats, the price for a long-haired cat, and the first opening."
- "Call the groomer and ask if Bailey is ready for pickup, and the total."
- "Move Bailey's groom from Saturday to the following Saturday, same time."
What the groomer will ask
plan_call recognizes grooming calls. It flags the pet's breed, weight and coat, the day and time when you're booking, and a callback number, and adds the tip that matting usually costs extra and most groomers want a rabies record. Groomers usually ask:
- Breed, weight and age.
- Coat condition: matted, recently groomed, double coat.
- First visit here, and temperament with dryers, nails and strangers.
- Proof of a current rabies vaccine.
Questions worth asking
- Can you fit this breed and size, and what does the service cost?
- What's extra: matting, de-shedding, teeth, a nervous or large dog?
- Do you need the rabies record, and how do I send it?
- How long does the pet stay, and do you call when it's ready?
- When is the first opening?
Booking, moving and pickup calls
- Booking the usual. Say "same cut as last time" and give the name the groomer has on file. Put the day and a time window in the goal, so the groomer can offer the closest slot without a mid-call question.
- Moving or canceling. Ask whether there's a fee inside 24 or 48 hours; many groomers charge for late cancels or no-shows.
- Is the dog ready? Pass the pet's name and the owner's name. Ask for the total so you can pay at pickup without surprises.
- Cats. Fewer groomers take them. Ask that first, then whether they groom without sedation.
What it costs
$1 per groomer that answers, including the first 2 minutes, then $0.40 a minute. Four answer, each under 2 minutes: $4. A groomer who doesn't pick up costs nothing.

Questions
Will a groomer quote over the phone?
Usually a range. Groomers price by breed, size and coat, and add a fee for matting or a difficult pet once they see it. Give all three and ask for the range and what would push it up.
Can it book the appointment?
Yes, if you give a day and a time window. Add a callback number: groomers often call or text when the pet is ready for pickup.
What will they ask about my dog?
Breed, weight, age, coat condition, whether it's the first groom there, and temperament (nervous with dryers, nips at nails). Many ask for proof of a current rabies shot.
Can it call about a cat?
Yes. Fewer groomers take cats, so ask that first, then the price and whether they sedate (most don't).
