Have AI call vets for an appointment or price

Tell your agent about your pet and what you need. CallForMe calls vet clinics, asks for the earliest appointment or a price for the procedure, and checks whether they take new patients. Your agent can compare several clinics in one table. Each answered call costs $1.

“Call 4 vets near 80211 and ask what a dental cleaning costs for a 7 year old, 18 pound cat, including bloodwork and anesthesia, and their next opening.”

Vet calls cover a lot of ground: booking a visit, finding a clinic that takes new patients, and comparing prices that can differ by hundreds of dollars for the same procedure. The front desk handles all of it and is often juggling a full lobby.

Call 4 vets near 80211 and ask what a dental cleaning costs for a 7 year old, 18 pound cat, including bloodwork and anesthesia, and their next opening.

Other vet calls:

  • "Call my vet, Highland Animal Hospital, and book a checkup and rabies booster for Biscuit next week, any weekday after 3pm."
  • "Ask vets near me which ones are taking new patients and the cost of a new patient exam."
  • "Ask the emergency vets near me what the wait is right now."

What the clinic will ask

Words like vet or veterinary put the call in the appointment category of plan_call, which flags a name, the date and time with a range and a callback number. Write "vet" or "animal hospital" rather than "clinic": the word clinic also matches doctors' offices, and then plan_call lists a date of birth you don't need. The clinic asks about the animal:

  • Species, breed, age and weight.
  • What's going on, and how long.
  • Vaccine status and previous clinic.
  • Spayed or neutered?

Questions worth asking

  • For procedures: the range, and what's included (pre-op bloodwork, anesthesia, IV fluids, pain meds, take-home meds).
  • New patient exam fee.
  • Earliest appointment, and is there a cancellation list?
  • Do they see exotic pets? (Many clinics don't see birds, reptiles or rabbits.)
  • Payment plans or wellness plans.

How call_around works for vets

query: "veterinarian" near your zip, count: 5. For price comparisons, put the full pet description in details so every clinic quotes the same animal. For exotic pets, use queries: ["exotic animal vet", "avian vet"] to find the clinics that see them. Emergency hospitals open 24 hours can be called at night one at a time with place_call and after_hours: true; call_around waits until 7am.

What trips these calls up

  • Busy front desks. Clinics put callers on hold during check-ins. Calls of 6 to 8 minutes are common.
  • "We need to see the pet first." Some clinics won't price a dental without an exam. Ask for the exam fee and a typical range.
  • Medication refills. Clinics need to have seen the pet recently to refill; the assistant reports that.

What it costs

$1 per clinic that answers, including 5 minutes, then $0.25 a minute. Four clinics, two put on hold for 7 minutes: $5.

Questions

Will vets quote a dental or a spay by phone?

Most give a range, since the final price depends on extractions or the pet's weight on the day. Ask what the range includes: exam, bloodwork, anesthesia, pain medication.

Does it need my date of birth?

No. The clinic asks about your pet, not you. If your goal says "clinic", plan_call may still list a date of birth, because the same word covers doctors' clinics. Write "vet" or "animal hospital" instead, or ignore that line.

Can it call an emergency vet?

It can ask an emergency clinic about the current wait or whether they're taking patients, including at night with after_hours, since emergency vets are open. For a pet in danger, call them yourself.

Can it get my pet's records sent?

It can ask your old clinic to send records to the new one if you give the new clinic's name and email. Some clinics need your signature on a form first.
