Have AI call your doctor's office about results and refills
Short answer: Tell your agent the practice, the patient's name and date of birth, and what you need: are the results in, did the referral go through, send a refill or records, or move a visit. CallForMe calls the front desk, works the phone menu, and reports what they said. It never shares more than you put in the request. Each answered call costs $1.

Most calls to a doctor's office aren't about booking. They're about status: are the results in, did the referral go to the specialist, did the refill reach the pharmacy, can they send records to the new practice. Each one means a phone menu and a hold. Your agent can make those calls and tell you what the front desk said.

Call Oakridge Family Medicine and ask if my blood test results from last Tuesday are back, and whether the doctor wants a follow-up visit. I'm Sam Lee, date of birth 4/12/1986.
Other calls to a doctor's office:
- "Ask my doctor's office whether they sent the referral to the cardiologist, and the referral number."
- "Ask Oakridge Family Medicine to send a refill request for my blood pressure medication to the pharmacy on Main Street."
- "Ask them to send my records to my new doctor, and how long it takes."
- "Move my appointment on Thursday to any morning next week."
- "Ask the clinic what a sports physical costs without insurance, and whether they take walk-ins."
What the office will ask
plan_call puts these calls in the medical and appointment categories. It flags the patient's date of birth for anything about their own chart and a callback number. It asks for a date and time only when the goal books or moves a visit. Front desks usually ask:
- Patient name and date of birth, sometimes the address on file.
- Who's calling and their relationship to the patient.
- The ordering doctor, the test or the medication.
- For records: where to send them, and whether there's a signed release on file.
Questions worth asking
- Are the results in, and how will I get them (portal, call from the nurse, a visit)?
- Was the referral sent, to whom, and is there a referral or authorization number?
- Did the refill request go to the pharmacy, and when?
- Is a signed release needed for records, and how long does sending take?
- What's the self-pay price for this visit?
What trips these calls up
- Results aren't read to third parties. Expect "they're in, the doctor will call," not the numbers. If you want them on the call, pass
transfer_towith your phone. - Nurse lines and callbacks. Clinical questions go to a nurse queue and come back later, to your callback number.
- Lunch hours. Many offices close the phones around noon.
What it costs
$1 per office that answers, including the first 2 minutes, then $0.40 a minute. Phone menus and holds count once someone answers. A status call that runs 4 minutes: $1.80. If nobody answers, it's free.

Questions
Will a doctor's office talk to an assistant?
Most will confirm a status (results are in, the referral was sent, the refill went to the pharmacy) once they can identify the patient by name and date of birth. They usually won't read test results over the phone to anyone but the patient; ask whether they're in and how you'll get them, or pass transfer_to so you're patched in.
What does plan_call flag for these calls?
A date of birth for anything about the patient's own chart, and a callback number, since offices often call back. Status questions (results, referrals, records, refills) don't ask for a date; booking or moving a visit does.
Can it book a new-patient appointment?
Yes. For that, see book a visit with the doctor you picked or, to find a practice first, doctors accepting new patients.
Is it private?
Calls are recorded and transcribed so you can read the result. Put only what the office needs to find the chart in details: name and date of birth, not a diagnosis or medical history. The assistant never gives a Social Security number.
