Google Hold for Me vs CallForMe: wait on hold, or skip the call
Short answer: Google's Hold for Me is a free Pixel feature: you dial and work the menu, then it waits on hold and tells you when a person is ready. CallForMe (callforme.tel) makes the whole call from the AI agent you already use: it dials, works the menu, waits on hold, and finishes the errand or patches you in. $1 per answered call.

What Hold for Me is
Hold for Me is a feature of Google's Phone app on Pixel phones. When a business puts you on hold, you turn it on for that call and put the phone down; it listens to the hold music and notifies you when a representative is ready (Google's help page). It's free and built in. Google notes it "may not detect every on-hold scenario", that you can't play other audio while it's on, and that the phone can't be on silent.

When to pick Hold for Me
- You have a Pixel, the call needs you (your identity, a judgment call), and the only problem is the hold music.
- You'd rather not pay anything per call.
When to pick CallForMe
- You don't want to make the call at all: a quote, a booking, a cancellation, "is my car ready?". See how AI calls handle menus and hold.
- You don't have a Pixel, or you're at your computer with an agent open.
- You want to be patched in only once a person answers, without having dialed or worked the menu yourself. See hold, then patch you in.
- You want the same question asked of several places. See call around.
