Have your agent get you on a dentist's cancellation list

Tell your agent the visit type and the window you want. CallForMe calls the dental office, asks for the earliest opening, and if nothing fits, asks to be added to the cancellation list with your availability and callback number. Your agent reports the earliest slot offered and whether you're on the list.

"Call my dentist and ask to be put on the cancellation list for a cleaning in the next 2 weeks."

What you say to your agent

Call my dentist and ask to be put on the cancellation list for a cleaning in the next 2 weeks.

Dental offices fill up weeks ahead, but they get cancellations every day. Being on the short list is how people get seen sooner. It's a two-minute call that's easy to put off.

What your agent does

  1. find_business for your dentist, or use the number your agent already knows.
  2. plan_call returns the usual intake questions: date of birth, last visit, insurance on file. Your agent adds what you're comfortable sharing.
  3. place_call:
{
  "phone": "+12145550176",
  "business_name": "Oak Lawn Family Dental",
  "goal": "Ask for the earliest cleaning for existing patient Jake Marsh. If nothing is in the next 2 weeks, book the earliest available and add him to the cancellation list for anything sooner.",
  "details": "Existing patient. Date of birth 1987-04-12. Available weekday mornings before 11am and Friday afternoons. Can come in on 2 hours notice.",
  "questions": [
    "What is the earliest cleaning available?",
    "Is he on the cancellation list, and how will you contact him?",
    "Is the insurance on file still current?"
  ],
  "on_behalf_of": "Jake Marsh",
  "callback_number": "+12145550199",
  "constraints": "Only book times in the availability given. Don't agree to any new charges."
}
  1. get_call with wait_seconds: 50 until the call ends. If the front desk asks "has anything changed with your health history?", your agent sees pending_question and replies with answer_question, usually "no changes" or "he'll update that at the visit".

He's free weekday mornings before 11 and Friday afternoons, and can come in on two hours notice. Front desk: Done. We'll text or call the cell we have on file.

Tips

  • Book a fallback appointment too. The cancellation list is a maybe. A real slot is a sure thing.
  • Be specific about short notice. "Can come in on 2 hours notice" moves you up the list.
  • Keep medical details short. The assistant is good at scheduling. Health history is better handled by you at the visit.

What it costs

$1 for the call. Scheduling calls rarely run past 5 minutes.

Questions

Will the office call CallForMe back when a slot opens?

They should call you. The assistant gives your callback_number for the list, because calls come from CallForMe's shared number and short-notice openings need to reach you directly.

Will it share my insurance details?

Only what you put in details. It never gives your SSN. Many offices only need your name and date of birth to find you.

What if the office asks something medical?

It asks your agent through pending_question. If your agent doesn't know, the assistant says you'll follow up.

Can it book the regular appointment too?

Yes. A good request is "book the earliest cleaning, and also put me on the cancellation list for anything sooner."
