Get a price when the website says "contact sales"

Short answer: Tell your agent the vendor, what you need and your size. CallForMe calls the sales line and asks for the price or a ballpark, the minimum commitment, contract length, setup fees and what's included. It never signs up or agrees to anything, and it turns down a demo unless you asked for one. $1 per answered call.

“Call Lakeside Voice's sales line and ask what they charge for 10 phone lines with call recording. Ask about the minimum contract, setup fees and whether there's a monthly or yearly price. Don't agree to a demo; if they need an email, use sam@example.com.”

Many vendors don't put prices on the website. "Contact sales" usually means a form, an email back, then a demo call before anyone names a number. When all you need is to know whether it's in budget, a phone call to the sales line is faster, and it's a call your agent can make.

What to ask

Question Why it matters
The price, or a range for your size The thing you came for
Minimum seats, volume or term Small teams often fall under the minimum
Monthly vs yearly, and any discount for yearly Changes the number by a lot
Setup, onboarding or activation fees Often not in the per-seat price
What's included at that price, and the most common add-on So two quotes compare like for like
How long a quote is good for So you know when to decide

What to give your agent

  • The vendor and the product or plan you're curious about.
  • Your size: seats, locations, volume per month.
  • What you're happy to share: your company name, an email for the follow-up. Put it in details or if_asked, or the rep's request becomes a mid-call question.
  • Whether to accept a demo. Most people say no for now, and the assistant declines politely.

What your agent does

  1. find_business for the vendor's sales number, or use the one on the website.
  2. place_call with the questions:
What your agent sends (for developers)
{
  "phone": "+12145550168",
  "business_name": "Lakeside Voice",
  "goal": "Ask the sales team what 10 business phone lines with call recording cost, the minimum contract, setup fees, and monthly vs yearly pricing. Don't book a demo or agree to anything.",
  "details": "Company: Ortiz Landscaping, 10 people, one office in Dallas.",
  "if_asked": "Email for the follow-up: sam@example.com. Decision in the next 2 weeks.",
  "questions": [
    "What does it cost for 10 lines with call recording?",
    "Is there a minimum contract or number of lines?",
    "Any setup or activation fee?",
    "Is there a monthly price, a yearly price, or both?"
  ],
  "on_behalf_of": "Sam Ortiz"
}
  1. get_call with wait_seconds: 50, repeated until it ends.

To compare vendors, call_around takes the same goal and a list of sales numbers in phones, and returns one table.

Question Answer
Price for 10 lines About $24 a line per month, recording included on that plan
Minimum 5 lines, 12-month contract for that price
Setup fee $99 one time, waived on a yearly plan
Monthly vs yearly Month to month is about $30 a line

Call length 3m 50s, $1.80.

Tips

  • Ask for a range if they won't quote. "What do companies with about 10 people usually pay?" gets a number more often than "what's the price?"
  • Ask what the price leaves out. Setup fees, required add-ons and taxes are where quotes differ.
  • Get the rep's name and a direct line. If you go ahead, the next call starts with a person.
  • Compare two or three. The same questions to each vendor make the answers line up.

What it costs

$1 per answered call, including the first 2 minutes, then $0.40 a minute. A line nobody answers costs nothing.

Questions

Will a sales rep give a price over the phone?

Often a ballpark, sometimes an exact number. Reps who won't quote usually still answer the questions that decide it: the minimum seats or volume, whether there's a setup fee, and monthly versus yearly terms. Ask for a range ("what do companies my size usually pay?") rather than a final quote.

Will it book a demo or sign me up?

No. The assistant asks and records the answers. If the rep offers a demo or a trial, it says not right now, unless your request says to book one. It never agrees to a contract or gives payment details.

What if they want my email or company name first?

Put what you're happy to share in details or if_asked: your company name, how many people, an email for the follow-up. Anything left out becomes a question to your agent mid-call, and the rep waits about 45 seconds for the answer.

Can I get on the line myself?

Yes. Pass your number as transfer_to and say in the goal to connect you once a rep answers. The assistant works the phone menu and the hold, then patches you in.

What does it cost?

$1 per answered call, including the first 2 minutes, then $0.40 a minute. Sales lines are usually answered fast; a 4-minute call is $1.80. Nothing is charged if nobody answers.
