Compare Medicare plans by phone with your AI agent
Short answer: Give your agent the zip code, the doctors and prescriptions that matter, and who the call is for. CallForMe calls a licensed Medicare broker or a plan, asks which plans keep those doctors in network and cover those drugs, and brings back the monthly premium and copays for each, plus a transcript. It doesn't enroll anyone. Each answered call costs $1.

Medicare open enrollment runs October 15 to December 7, and changes start January 1. During the Medicare Advantage open enrollment period, January 1 to March 31, someone already in an Advantage plan can switch to another one or go back to Original Medicare (Medicare.gov). The questions that decide a plan are the same every year: does it keep my doctors, does it cover my prescriptions, and what will it cost each month and at the pharmacy. Those are phone questions.
Who to call
- A licensed Medicare broker compares plans from several companies. Ask how many companies they represent, since many don't offer every plan in an area.
- The plan's own sales line answers for its plans only, often with longer hours during open enrollment.
- Your state's SHIP program (State Health Insurance Assistance Program) gives free, unbiased counseling. Expect a callback or an appointment rather than answers on the first call.
- 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) answers general questions. Expect a long hold; set
max_cost_usdif you want a ceiling.
What to give your agent
- The zip code and the person's age.
- Each doctor by name and practice, and each prescription with its dose.
- What matters most: the lowest premium, keeping one doctor, a dental or vision benefit.
- Who the call is for, as
on_behalf_of("Rosa Diaz"), and your own number ascallback_numberif the broker wants to follow up.
Leave out the Medicare number and Social Security number. Quotes don't need them, and CallForMe never says an SSN on a call.
Example result
An illustrative call to a fictional broker:
Broker: For 75024 I've got two Advantage plans that have Maple Street Family Medicine in network.
Assistant: Great. Do both cover metformin and lisinopril, and what are the copays?
Broker: Both are tier 1 on each. Plan A is $0 at a preferred pharmacy, plan B is $5.
Assistant: And the monthly premiums?
Broker: Plan A is $0, plan B is $29.
| Plan | Premium | Dr. Lee in network | Metformin + lisinopril |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plan A | $0/mo | Yes | $0 each, preferred pharmacy |
| Plan B | $29/mo | Yes | $5 each |
Check the answers against each plan's own documents or Medicare's plan finder before switching.
Calls that need the person on Medicare
Questions about their current plan, a claim, a bill or a prescription denial usually need them on the line, or permission on file. Pass their number as transfer_to and the assistant waits through the menu and hold, then patches them in once a person answers. See making phone calls for an aging parent.
What it costs
$1 per answered call, including the first 2 minutes, then $0.40 a minute. Two brokers at 6 minutes each is $2.60 + $2.60 = $5.20. A broker who doesn't pick up costs nothing.

Questions
Will it enroll my parent in a plan?
No. It asks questions and writes down the answers. Enrolling needs the person on Medicare (or someone with their permission) and their Medicare number, which doesn't belong in a call request. Do that with the broker, the plan or Medicare.gov.
Does the person on Medicare need to be on the call?
Not for plan questions and quotes. A broker can compare plans from a zip code, doctors and prescriptions. Calls about their own plan, a claim or a bill usually need them or their permission on file: pass their number as transfer_to and the assistant patches them in once a person answers.
Is a broker neutral?
Not always. Brokers are paid by the plans they sell and may not offer every plan in your area. Ask how many companies they represent. For free, unbiased counseling, your state's SHIP program also takes calls.
When can plans be changed?
During open enrollment, October 15 to December 7, with changes starting January 1. If you're already in a Medicare Advantage plan, you can also switch Advantage plans or go back to Original Medicare from January 1 to March 31.
