Get a refund or credit for an unused hotel or travel booking
Short answer: Give your agent the booking (site or hotel, confirmation number, dates, the name on it), why you can't use it, and what you'll accept: a refund first, credit as a fallback. CallForMe calls, asks for the refund, asks for a supervisor or a hotel waiver if it's refused, and gets a case number and the decision in writing.

Getting money back for a trip you can't take is mostly patience: a menu, a hold, a first "no", a supervisor. Your agent can do the waiting and the asking, and come back with a case number.
What your agent does
- plan_call checks what the booking site will ask for: the itinerary or confirmation number and the name on it. It suggests
max_cost_usd, because these lines can hold a long time, andtransfer_toin case they verify the account holder. - place_call works the menu, waits on hold, and asks for the refund, then the fallback you allowed.
- get_call follows the call and returns the decision, any amounts, the case number and what happens next.

Tips
- Give the reason in
details. A canceled event or an illness is what gets a penalty waived. - Set what you'll accept in
constraints, so the assistant can say yes to a good offer without waiting on you. - Set
max_cost_usd. Travel support lines can hold 20 minutes or more. - Ask for the decision in writing and a case number, so the next call starts from there.
What it costs
$1 for the first 2 minutes once someone answers, then $0.40 a minute, including hold. With max_cost_usd set, the call never costs more than that. If nobody answers, it's free.

Questions
Should it call the booking site or the hotel?
If you booked through a site, start there: it holds the reservation and the payment. Sites often have to ask the hotel for a waiver, and the agent can ask them to do that. If you booked direct, call the hotel.
What if the rate was non-refundable?
Ask anyway, with the reason: hotels often waive a penalty for a canceled event, illness or a long-standing booking, or offer credit. Say in constraints what you'll accept so the assistant can agree on the spot.
Will they talk to an assistant?
Many will, with the itinerary number and the name on it. Some verify the account holder first: pass transfer_to and the assistant patches you in once someone picks up, after the menu and the hold.
Can it give my card number for the refund?
No. It asks for the refund to the original payment method, which needs no card details. It never reads card numbers aloud.
