Have your AI agent call to lower your internet bill

Give your agent your current bill, plan, and a competitor offer. CallForMe calls the provider, asks for retention, and asks what promos exist to lower the price. Many providers require the account holder to approve changes, so the assistant can patch you in with transfer_to once a rep has an offer on the table.

"Call my internet provider, tell them I'm looking at switching to fiber, and get my $115 bill lowered or a retention promo."

What you say to your agent

Call my internet provider, tell them I'm looking at switching to fiber, and get my $115 bill lowered or a retention promo.

Promo prices expire quietly, and the bill creeps up. Asking for a better rate is usually one phone call, but it's a long, menu-heavy one that few people enjoy.

What your agent does

  1. plan_call with your goal and bill details. It returns the questions a retention rep is likely to ask, like "what's the account number?" and "what's the competing offer?", so your agent can check it has those.
  2. place_call with the facts and a transfer_to for the final step:
{
  "phone": "+18885550142",
  "business_name": "Internet provider customer service",
  "goal": "Reach the retention or loyalty department and ask what they can do to lower the monthly bill, currently $115 for 500 Mbps. Mention the customer is considering switching to fiber. Once the rep has a specific offer, connect the customer to accept it.",
  "details": "Customer for 4 years. Current plan 500 Mbps, $115/month after promo ended in July. Competing offer at this address: 1 Gig fiber at $80/month. Account number 88341207.",
  "questions": [
    "What is the best monthly price you can offer?",
    "How long does that price last?",
    "Any contract or equipment fee changes?"
  ],
  "on_behalf_of": "Jake Marsh",
  "transfer_to": "+12145550199",
  "constraints": "Do not accept any plan change or contract yourself. Do not agree to any new fees. Never give passwords, PINs, or SSN digits."
}
  1. get_call with wait_seconds: 50 while the assistant works through the menu and hold. If the rep asks for account verification, the assistant asks your agent through pending_question. Your agent answers with answer_question, for example "I can't verify, I'll connect Jake now."
  2. When there's an offer, your phone rings and you accept or decline it yourself.

Example transcript excerpt:

Assistant: Hi, I'm an automated assistant calling on behalf of Jake Marsh, who's a customer. He's considering switching to fiber and asked me to see what you can do on his monthly price. Rep: I can look at offers. I'll need the account holder to verify before I apply anything. Assistant: Understood. What offers are available on his account? Rep: I can do 500 meg at $85 for 12 months, no contract. Assistant: Thank you. I'm connecting Jake now so he can verify and decide.

What your agent tells you:

Field Value
Offer 500 Mbps at $85/month for 12 months
Contract None
Status Transferred to you to verify and accept
Potential savings $30/month while the offer lasts

Tips

  • Bring a real competing offer. Check what fiber or 5G home internet costs at your address before the call.
  • Set clear limits in constraints. "Don't agree to a contract" keeps the assistant from saying yes to something you'd regret.
  • Expect the account holder step. Most providers require it. transfer_to is how you do it without sitting on hold.
  • Ask about equipment fees too. They're often where the extra $10 to $15 hides. See remove a fee from a bill.

What it costs

Retention calls have long menus and holds, so plan on 10 to 20 minutes: about $2.25 to $4.75. If nobody answers, there's no charge.

Questions

Can the AI agree to a new plan for me?

Only within the limits you set in constraints. Many providers also require the account holder's verbal OK, and the assistant never gives passwords or PINs. Using transfer_to lets you accept the offer yourself.

Will the provider talk to an AI?

Some reps will discuss available promotions. Some will not discuss an account at all without the account holder. That's why patching you in is the default for this call.

What should I tell my agent before it calls?

Your current monthly price, plan speed, how long you've been a customer, and a real competing offer at your address. Specific facts get better answers.

Is the savings guaranteed?

No. The assistant asks and reports what the provider says. Sometimes the answer is no.
