Have your AI agent ask pharmacies if your prescription is in stock
Tell your agent the medication and strength. CallForMe calls nearby pharmacies and asks whether they have it in stock and how soon they could fill a transferred prescription. It doesn't share your date of birth or insurance unless you tell it to. Your agent reports which pharmacies can fill it and when.
What you say to your agent
Call pharmacies near me and ask which ones have Adderall XR 20mg in stock before I transfer my prescription.
When a medication is in short supply, people call pharmacy after pharmacy, and each call starts with a phone menu and a wait for the pharmacist. Your agent can work through the list while you do something else.
What your agent does
- find_business with
query: "pharmacy"near you, keeping the ones open now with a pharmacy counter. - plan_call for the check. It notes pharmacists often ask for quantity and whether it's a new prescription or a transfer.
- place_call to each pharmacy. These can run in parallel:
{
"phone": "+19725550197",
"business_name": "Main Street Pharmacy",
"goal": "Ask the pharmacy if they have Adderall XR 20mg capsules in stock for a 30-day supply, and how soon they could fill a transferred prescription.",
"details": "Quantity 30 capsules. Would be a transfer from another pharmacy. Brand or generic is fine.",
"questions": [
"Is Adderall XR 20mg in stock for 30 capsules?",
"How soon could a transferred prescription be filled?",
"What do you need to start the transfer?"
],
"on_behalf_of": "Jake Marsh",
"callback_number": "+12145550199",
"constraints": "Stock check only. Do not share date of birth, insurance, or any ID numbers."
}
- get_call until each is
ended. If the pharmacist says "we need the patient's date of birth to check," it becomes apending_question. Your agent can answer or tell the assistant to decline and move on.
The pharmacy menu often asks you to press a key for the pharmacy. The assistant handles that. See phone menus and hold.

Example transcript excerpt:
Menu: For the pharmacy, press 2. Pharmacist: Pharmacy, this is Priya. Assistant: Hi, I'm an automated assistant calling on behalf of Jake Marsh. Do you have Adderall XR 20 milligram in stock for a 30-day supply? It would be a transfer. Pharmacist: I have the generic, enough for 30. Once we get the transfer, same day.
What your agent tells you:
| Pharmacy | In stock | Fill time | To transfer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main Street Pharmacy | Generic, 30 available | Same day | Give them old pharmacy's name and Rx number |
| Legacy Drive Pharmacy | Won't say by phone | n/a | Must be a patient on file |
| Coit Road Drug | Out, expected Friday | n/a | n/a |
Three answered calls, $3.00.
Tips
- Give the exact strength and form. "XR 20mg capsules" gets a faster check than a brand name alone.
- Ask about generics. Stock differs between brand and generic.
- Keep personal details out unless a pharmacy needs them. You can finish the transfer yourself.
What it costs
$1 per pharmacy that answers. Pharmacy holds are often short, but a long wait for the pharmacist adds $0.25 a minute after 5 minutes.

Questions
Will pharmacies tell an AI what's in stock?
Policies vary. Many pharmacies answer general stock questions. Some won't discuss controlled substances over the phone without a patient profile. The assistant reports what each pharmacy says.
Does it share my medical information?
Only what you put in the call. For a stock check, the medication name and strength are usually enough. It never gives your SSN or card numbers.
Can it transfer the prescription for me?
The receiving pharmacy usually handles the transfer once you're a patient there. The assistant can ask what they need to start it and report back.
Is this call HIPAA-covered?
CallForMe isn't a healthcare provider. Keep it to what's needed: medication, strength, and quantity. Handle anything personal directly with the pharmacy.
